San Francisco Media Reception Fosters Relationships with In-State Media

By Kristen Bonilla 10/25/2018

74 media guests and 46 industry PR delegates gathered at Fort Mason’s Gallery 308 on Oct. 8, 2018 for Visit California’s San Francisco Media Reception.

The event, which takes place every 18 months, is popular among industry representatives as San Francisco is a strong media market for both regional and national reach and a large feeder market for many of California’s destinations.  Media in attendance included Julia Cosgrove from AFAR, Spud Hilton from San Francisco Chronicle, Jim Carlton from The Wall Street Journal SF Bureau, Kate Loweth from Red Tricycle, and freelancers including Laurie Jo Miller-Farr and April Orcutt.

The San Francisco Media Reception offers a platform for industry members to foster old media relationships while also developing new ones and offers media the opportunity to hear story ideas from destinations throughout the state all in one evening.
