JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

Responsible for project coordination, including strategic planning, campaign integration, and oversight of brand meeting cadence, preparation and follow through. Supports the Brand team in daily and special projects, including monitoring paid campaign performance, reporting, and development of brand marketing slideware for internal and external communication.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Specific Duties Include:

  • Support the global brand marketing team with the upkeep of Visit California’s global advertising strategy and positioning – including trends, media landscape, investment details, audience, and program highlights.
  • Coordinate the development of Board Meeting, Brand & Content Committee, and Industry Meeting slideware and deliverables, including working with various staff to ensure messaging quality, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Communicate with California industry partners to help manage the Brand & Content Committee, as well as special Marketing Task Forces as needed.
  • Project manage the Brand team’s deliverables for Visit California’s annual Outlook Forum industry conference.
  • Monitor and report on campaign objectives and performance utilizing media tools and collaboration with the research team and agency analysts.
  • Track campaign learnings and best practices to support future program recommendations and optimizations.
  • Coordinate all Brand Meetings, including strategic oversight of cadence, preparation, and follow up.
  • Collaborate with the agency to schedule and facilitate all planning touch points, including strategic briefings, review of creative and media recommendations, ushering approvals, and campaign debriefs.
  • Manage the process for asset collection and tracking of brand and media partnerships.
  • Manage the workflow for all Brand Team contracts, media authorizations, and budgeting exercises.
  • Support brand team with budget management and invoice approvals.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • 70%  Provide content support for the Brand Team, including upkeep of strategic narrative, slideware, and reporting.
  • 20%  Coordinate cadence of all paid media priorities and touch points, including strategic planning support, ongoing creative and media approvals, and regularly liaising with staff to ensure efficiencies with calendaring and organizational priorities. 
  • 20% Work with Brand Media & Creative Managers, along with Owned and Research Teams, to monitor campaign performance and joint KPIs, ensuring consistent optimization and integration with owned channels.
  • 20% Support the Brand department with budget planning and management, contracts, and media authorizations. 
  • 10% Other duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

Essential Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key duty satisfactorily, as well as exhibit the following qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate and work well with others in a professional office environment.
  • Education equivalent to a bachelor's degree or higher in marketing, recreation, tourism, or related field a plus.
  • Strong computer and organizational skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Work, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
  • Ability to use the Internet to do light research - Google Analytics a plus.
  • Previous experience and competency with Salesforce or other contact management systems a plus.
  • Minimum of one year of professional experience in the tourism industry preferred. 
  • Background in marketing a plus.
