JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

This position, in collaboration with the brand team members, will be the key point of contact for Visit California’s brand agency of record for working with industry and media partners in the execution of campaign programs. These programs include the development of leveraged media programming and integrated creative development across Visit California brand campaigns.

 

As the Brand Marketing Manager focused on the industry and media partnerships, this position will be responsible for overseeing the Visit California’s campaign structure and the execution of the creative across multiple media environments. The Brand Manager will work day-to-day with the media agencies, partners, and media platforms to develop and executive the Visit California global brand campaigns.

 

This position will review and support the executive presentation of all media recommendations and ensure the highest level of performance, media efficiency and integration across the global media program.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Specific Duties Include:

  • Working with the advertising agency to manage the program for cooperative marketing and industry collaboration programs – this includes development of the joint strategies, the plan development and execution management.
  • Acting as the brand manager as key point of contact for industry planning, communication.
  • Responding to partnership programs and alignment with potential travel-related and non-endemic partners.
  • Working with the media and brand creative manager to generate platforms to support industry partners and extend integrated marketing for the California travel industry.
  • Responding to all requests and integration with the industry partners for campaigns and marketing programs.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • 50% Develop and manage an integrated media marketing plan, working directly with advertising and media agencies and other related media partners and resources to execute the brand advertising plan.
  • 30% Work with operation and finance teams to ensure that all cooperative marketing partnership budgets are maintained. This role will include program oversight for the partnership and cooperative marketing budget as well as leveraged media expenses.
  • 10% Work across the travel industry to establish stakeholder meetings and outreach to collaborate on joint marketing programs.
  • 5% Develop industry reporting and communications specific to the media program of work. Contribute to committee meeting reports and presentations.
  • 5% Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

Essential Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key duty satisfactorily, as well as exhibit the following qualifications:

  • Ability to develop, manage and communicate advertising media plans.
  • Demonstrated experience in advertising, media, and agency management, including media buying process, maintenance, reporting and media reconciliation.
  • Demonstrated experience with budget management of large-scale branded advertising campaigns.
  • Experience in expertly managing agency resource as well as internal staff.
  • Professional experience in the tourism industry preferred.
  • Education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing, advertising, recreation, tourism, or related field a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work within a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to represent to California brand proposition to industry stakeholders and partners.
  • Some travel may be required.
