JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary:
Supports the Director of Brand Advertising and the Director of Content along with the wider consumer marketing team. Responsibilities include assistance with English and non-English speaking (NES) marketing programs, facilitating Committee meetings, Global Content and marketing team status meetings, as well as operational duties, such as scheduling, drafting correspondence, coordinating travel logistics and preparing meeting materials.
Position will work closely with the Visit California admin team, particularly the Marketing Coordinator/Assistant to the VP of Marketing and the International Marketing Assistant, to ensure alignment across the marketing leadership team.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Estimated % of Time
- 70% Assist the marketing team, and in particular, the Directors of Brand Advertising and Content, with coordination and execution of day to day programs.
- 15% Facilitate scheduling of Brand & Content, Editorial, Rural and Snow Committee meetings and consumer marketing team status meetings. Prepare agendas, aggregate meeting materials, take minutes and communicate follow ups/actions as needed.
- 10% Work with Visit California admin team, particularly the Marketing Coordinator/Assistant to the VP of Marketing and the International Marketing Assistant to ensure alignment across the entire marketing team.
- 5% Provide administrative support to the Director of Brand Advertising and Director of Content. Manage all scheduling, including calendar management, meeting coordination, preparation and logistics. Manage travel arrangements and expense claims as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
Essential Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key duty satisfactorily:
- Minimum of two-three years professional experience in marketing and/or the tourism industry preferred.
- Competency in a variety of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and experience with scheduling and conducting webinars.
- Strong writing skills and ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels within organization.
- Education equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in marketing, advertising, recreation, tourism or related field a plus.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Some travel may be required.
