JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

This position provides general support for all activities of the Corporate Communications Department with a focus on the organization’s Speaker’s Desk, presentation preparation and results tracking for reporting across various industry communications channels. The Corporate Communications Coordinator will report to the Communications Manager.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY


Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • 30% Coordinate Speaker's Desk request and vet opportunities.  Manage all external communications, scheduling, logistical needs, and internal meetings.  
  • 30% Support speaker preparation for confirmed opportunities.  Assign roles for each speaking opportunity and as appropriate, coordinate requests across internal teams, collect needed insights for speaker briefings and support development of speech talking points and PowerPoint presentations under the direction of the Communications Manager to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with Visit California brand standards.   
  • 10% Track organization results for reporting and status updates for marketing programs.  Oversee presentation assets database and support industry reporting to ensure relevancy and accuracy of results and content.
  • 25% Support across the corporate communications team including maintenance of the industry website, creation of mass emails and editing and proofreading documents.
  • 5% Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
 
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

Essential Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key duty satisfactorily, as well as exhibit the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail and ability to follow through.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook and especially PowerPoint.
  • Some travel may be required.
