Health Pass FAQ

2021 Fall Board Meeting

Visit California is committed to conducting a successful, productive and safe board meeting. 

To ensure your wellbeing and to comply with applicable rules and regulations, Visit California has partnered with CLEAR Health Pass.

  • All attendees will be required to show proof of having received a CDC-approved vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result, administered by a medical professional and taken within 72 hours of participation in on-site meeting activities.
  • If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever, cough or shortness of breath, please do not attend in-person activities.
  • All attendees will be required to wear a face covering indoors.

Additional CDC Guidelines to protect yourself and your fellow attendees: 

  • Ensure physical distancing.
  • Wash/Sanitize your hands often.
  • Avoid handshakes.
  • Cough/Sneeze into your bent elbow.
  • Take stairs or escalators and avoid elevators when possible.

How to set-up the CLEAR Health Pass?

Please enroll in the CLEAR Health Pass at least 24 hours before arriving for the meeting activities.

New Users

  1. Please be prepared with your ID, and vaccination record or test results.
  2. Download/access the CLEAR app. 
  3. Follow the prompts through enrollment steps to create a health pass and complete the requirements.
  4. Show your Health Pass at the event. Green means you’re good to go!

Existing Users

  1. Open CLEAR Health App
  2. Click on ‘change’ under Health pass at the top of the app
  3. Enter event code: EFATTENDEE17
  4. Follow the instructions to verify your vaccination record or submit a negative test
  5. Show your Health Pass at the event. Green means you’re good to go!

CLEAR Health Pass Frequently Asked Questions:

What types of vaccines are accepted?

CDC-approved vaccines include Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson/Janssen.

When are you considered fully vaccinated?

In general, people are considered fully vaccinated:

  • Two weeks after a second dose in a two-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
  • Two weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine.

Does CLEAR Health Pass accept an antibody test?

If CLEAR can verify the test results from their preferred lab provider, then it will be accepted.

Do tests need to be administered by a medical professional?

Yes, through one of the CLEAR-preferred lab providers.

What type of vaccine card is accepted?

Standard CDC vaccine card
Smart QR code from California Department of Public Health (CDPH)

What tests are accepted?

All standard COVID-19 tests are accepted if they can be verified by the CLEAR Health Pass preferred lab provider.

How soon do I need to get a COVID-19 test?

Within 72 hours of the first in-person board meeting event you will be attending. (For reference, Executive Committee and a welcome dinner will be held on Oct. 11. The Board meeting will follow on Oct 12.)

Do I need to complete the Health survey daily?

No, this only needs to be completed once. 

What does it mean to get a red or green Health Pass?

Green means you’re good to go. Red means you are not cleared for entry. These statuses are determined by your survey responses, lab results, or other information required.

Note: Each attendee must upload their own document through their own mobile device. Visit California is following CDC guidance for when individuals are considered fully vaccinated. You will be considered fully vaccinated two weeks after a second dose of a two-dose series or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine. You will need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test for admission if you were vaccinated less than two weeks from the event start date.
