California to sip, savor, support at Wine Country's Grateful Table

By Ryan Becker 11/08/2017

As California’s Wine Country continues to recover from recent wildfires, Visit California is planning a once-in-a-lifetime experience to benefit fire recovery, the Grateful Table.

Produced in partnership with Outstanding in the Field, the fundraiser will bring together hundreds of residents, first responders, community leaders, donors and more for a long-table dining experience in a vineyard along the Napa-Sonoma county line.

The event is hosted by celebrity chef and California culinary ambassador Tyler Florence, who is bringing along a number of his friends to create an unforgettable feast Nov. 21. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit wildfire recovery charities.

Share the #CALove

California Wine Country needs your love more than ever. While the majority of Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino wineries, restaurants and resorts have been unaffected by the fires, the people who grow, pour, craft and welcome visitors are in need of support. The best way to support these communities and help them rebuild the region is to come celebrate: sip, savor and unwind.

Tickets to the Grateful Table are on sale now. Single tickets are available for $500; tables of eight are available for $4,000. If you can’t attend, contribute $250 for a "Share the Love" seat, which will buy a seat for first responders or residents affected by the fires.

100% of ticket sales will be donated to the following nonprofits helping those directly impacted by the fires:

Partners across the state have come together to help bring the Grateful Table to life. The event is sponsored by The Wine Institute, California Grown, Pure Luxury Transportation, Sonoma County Tourism, Visit Mendocino County, Visit Napa Valley, Visit Santa Rosa and Sonoma Valley Visitors Bureau.

Engagement, amplified

The Grateful Table will be the focus of a host of activations across various Visit California channels.

The California Dream Eater is embarking on a road trip through Wine Country to spotlight the region for an all-new travelogue. Chase Ramsey's journey through the world of Northern California viticulture concludes at the Grateful Table.

Additionally, new original online TV programming will highlight the region's chefs, winemakers, farmers and other local artisans to amplify the region's "Open for Business" messaging to show the world that California Wine Country is as beautiful as ever.

Industry partners can find additional resources – including messaging and talking points, digital assets, a social media toolkit, and frequently asked questions – at Visit California's Crisis Response page. Partners are also encouraged to join the social movement by sharing their #CALove and helping to show the world it is time to visit #CaliforniaWineCountryNOW.
