VisitCalifornia.com 3.0 Now Live

Visit California has launched the latest version of its consumer hub, VisitCalifornia.com 3.0. The redesign, prompted by a technical evolution of the site’s content management system, delivers richer, more relevant content that facilitates handoffs to partner businesses.

The site’s goals haven’t changed: It will continue to promote California as a preeminent tourist destination and enrich trip planning with timely information about events, tourism businesses and relevant travel updates. 

Some highlights:

  • Lightning quick: Three times faster than the previous version.
  • Mobile first: Three out of four visits now come from mobile devices. The reinvented site optimizes content for mobile users. Take it for a spin on your phone!
  • Intuitive: Visit California’s research showed website visitors kept getting lost — on the site and in the Golden State. VisitCalifornia.com 3.0 fixes both problems. The site is far more intuitive to navigate and easier to search. The navigation has been modernized and the site more effectively surfaces recommended itineraries and activities. 
  • Personalized (in development): Consumers can already create a personalized account and with a liking function to save content that interests them. The team is currently testing more dynamic personalization features, such as geo-targeted content tailored the visitor’s home location and destination.

All these improvements will keep users on the site longer, allow them to consume more content and ultimately increase handoffs to all of you, our industry partners. As before, partners can submit editorial ideas and suggestions for the website through the content submission tool.
