JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary

Visit California’s IT department is looking for a Systems Engineer to support its office-based and cloud-based infrastructure. This individual will ensure the stability, integrity, and efficiency of systems that support core organizational functions. This will be achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all office networks, on-prem software, cloud solutions, and SaaS platforms. Additionally, this individual will be required to quickly respond to escalated end-user tickets, perform technical tasks as requested by management, and be able to troubleshoot advanced problems across the infrastructure. You will be required to accurately track, report on, and complete short-term tasks and long-term projects.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • 40% Administration of office WAN/LAN and Unifi Networking and WiFi Administration of routers, switches, firewalls & VPN Administration of cloud and network infrastructure (VMW, Azure, AWS, GCP); administration of Windows Servers, AD, Exchange Online and G-Suite Administration of infrastructure monitoring and logging systems; administration of security and access permissions for groups and individuals; administration of infrastructure backups, restoration, and disaster recovery testing
  • 30% Provisioning, management, and de-provisioning of user groups and accounts; documentation of all infrastructure, including networks, systems and procedures; and ensure all projects meet agreed upon deadlines.
  • 20% Remotely respond to requests for Tier-2 technical support by phone, email, ticketing system, and Zoom remote-hands support, and provide technical expertise.
  • 10% Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

Essential Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key duty satisfactorily, as well as exhibit the following qualifications:

  • 5 years of work experience
  • Advanced Unifi Networking administration and devices
  • Ability to quickly and proactively communicate in a 100% remote environment
  • Ability to complete short term tasks and long-term projects
  • Highly self-motivated, with extra attention to detail
  • Understanding of Okta, Zoom, Office 365, Slack, and G-Suite
  • Experience with the administration of GCP, Azure
  • Experience with backups and recovery
  • Experience in Disaster Recovery
  • Experience in Intrusion Detection
  • Understanding of MacOS and iOS
  • Understanding of Ironscales, FreshService, and Salesforce is a plus
  • Zoom VoiP / Zoom call center experience a plus
