Visit California Takes the Show on the Road to Denver and Seattle
By Rob Anaya 05/12/2023
Visit California recently brought the Golden State to Denver and Seattle with the Taste of California Roadshows. These events allowed Visit California and California DMO partners to connect one on one with over 50 professional meeting planners in their respective markets. The Denver event was held on April 26, 2023 at the trendy Reynard Social at Thompson Denver and the Seattle event on April 27, 2023 at the classic Fairmont Olympic Hotel Seattle. Within the thoughtfully selected venues, each destination is designated an area in a lounge style setting with branded destinations signs. Meeting planner clients make their way around the room with the opportunity to meet with each destination. To further motivate and incentivize our meeting planner clients, they each are offered a gifting experience when they meet with all destination representatives.
This is the fourth round of the Taste of California Roadshow and the first to include a pre-event educational session, facilitated by Vice President of Meeting Professionals International Academy, Jessie States. “The Engagement Equation” session provided the elements to create engaging, memorable and valuable events in this new age of meetings and events. This custom content session incorporated our pillars of the Birthplace campaign of inclusivity, innovation, sustainability and creativity. By attending the session, meeting planner clients could earn Continuing Education Unit credits and find additional value in attending the evening of events.
As Visit California moves through the second year of the Professional Meetings and Events initiative, the effort will continue to be strategic and thoughtful to best support each of California destination partner; creating opportunities to collectively elevate their reach to key meeting planners and drive planner demand to the California markets. The Taste of California Roadshows play a significant role in this initiative, with great value to partners and clients. This recent Roadshow further proved that each market’s client base is different, with unique expectations, personalities, and approaches. As future Roadshows are planned, the team will continue to think bigger and strive to create exceptional experiences for clients and value-driven opportunities for California destination partners.
