Partners can submit consumer-facing content ideas for consideration for distribution on Visit California consumer channels, including but not limited to, VisitCalifornia.com, the California Now blog and podcast, and Visit California social channels.

Visit California’s content team is always on the lookout for exciting – and inspiring – ways to showcase the Golden State. That’s where you come in. Submit your consumer-facing content ideas about your destination, business, or a suggestion for the perfect podcast guest for consideration. Consumer content submissions are considered and reviewed by Visit California’s Editorial Board for possible inclusion on VisitCalifornia.com, the California Now podcast, social media and other owned channels.

Much like the state, attractions and businesses are in a constant state of evolution. If there’s been an update to your destination/business, this is also where you can submit any requested changes.


  • Think beyond your company when pitching story ideas. Is there a regional or state-wide story angle that would resonate with potential California visitors?
  • Timely and topical ideas are best! Emerging travel trends, top-secret travel tips or lesser-known travel ideas are popular stories to consider.

Have you added the Visit California logo to your page? This increases site visibility and gives you additional content submission opportunities.


What about events?

While we no longer have an events calendar - the content team still focuses on larger, destination-driving events - Visit California still encourages event submissions for inclusion in monthly events blog posts, on social channels or as additional content pieces on VisitCalifornia.com. When submitting events, please submit at least one month prior to the month the event takes place to leave enough time for inclusion in the monthly events blog post.

What kinds of images should I use?

Images should always convey a sense of place. Please do not submit logos or fliers, and be sure to use hi-resolution, high-quality, full-color images. For the website, please note that images must be horizontal.

What type of content ideas should I submit?

Content submissions must be tourism-related, of interest to the general traveling public and should focus on the experience and place rather than offers and special deals. As a reminder, while any of California’s attractions can be enjoyed by locals, our main objective is to market to longer distance, higher spending travelers.
