International Arrivals

A monthly summary of non-resident air arrivals at any California ports of entry (POE).

• In May 2026, California welcomed 570,584 total non-resident international air arrivals across all ports of entry, a 7.5% decrease compared to May 2025.
• Arrivals from Visit California’s 13 priority markets totaled 409,134, reflecting a 7.9% year-over-year decline.
• Canada was California’s top international source market with 74,962 arrivals, down 12.2% year over year. Mexico followed with 65,510 arrivals, down 3.5%, while China recorded 46,955 arrivals, a 4.5% decrease.
• Overall, arrivals declined in eleven of the thirteen priority markets. The largest decline was seen in the Middle East (-35.5%).
• The only two positive performers for the month were Japan (+16.5%) and Mexico (+3.5%).
