Non-Stop Airlift to California

A monthly summary of non-stop seats to California, including total domestic and international airlift, as well as a breakdown of airlift by market into California.

• In August 2026, California’s domestic air travel recorded 10.2 million non-stop seats to destinations across the state, a 3.1% increase from August 2025.
• Internationally, Visit California’s 13 priority markets accounted for 1.5 million non-stop seats to the state, a 9% year-over-year decrease.

• Mexico remained the largest international source market with 382,800 nonstop seats, a 13% decrease year over year, while Canada followed with 252,300 seats, down 9%. 

• Among overseas markets, Japan and the U.K. had the largest volume of nonstop seats to California. 

• The Middle East (-23%), Italy (-21%), and Mexico (-13%) had the largest rates of decline, while Germany (+2%) and Japan (+0.3%) were the only priority markets with positive growth. 
• Non-stop airlift from India has been suspended by Air India due to closures over Pakistani airspace and higher fuel costs.
