Visit California debuted this first-of-its-kind initiative in 2022, backed by grant funding from the U.S. Economic Development Administration, to honor the state’s cultural heritage. The Visit Native California program is a collaborative content platform. Tribal leaders from across California joined statewide officials and national Native advocates in announcing the Visit Native California platform and sharing with journalists a sampling of the state’s vast array of offerings.
