FAQs

What happens to WNIC content after it’s submitted?

Content that meets the criteria – such as openings of new attractions, hotels and restaurants; large-scale renovations of attractions or hotels; and any other similar tourism-related news – is included in the quarterly “What’s New in California” print publication, which is mailed out to media and industry. Top-line content is also distributed via e-newsletter to media and industry with a link to the full publication.

What happens to my story idea submissions?

All story idea submissions are reviewed and shared with Visit California’s global PR team for proactive media pitching and for use as a resource in reactive leads. The submissions are also used to create polished story ideas that are posted to the media center and used when pitching

What if I didn’t have enough time to finish my submission?

If you had to leave the submission process early, don’t worry — your work can be saved and completed at a later time in your profile.

Who reviews my content?

PR submissions are reviewed by Visit California’s PR team, and when applicable, shared with the Visit California Editorial Board for consideration across web and social channels as well.
