Position Summary

Visit California is looking for a qualified Director of Information and Technology to lead the Information Technology department. You will develop and implement key strategies to support overall organizational objectives. You will ensure that all systems necessary to support IT and organizational objectives are in place and operating efficiently and effectively. You will ensure that your IT department adds the maximum value to our client's organization so as to facilitate the success of their business.

You must have a solid IT background and consistently keep up to date with advancements in the field. You must possess the traits of a strong leader with an appropriate background in strategic and business acumen.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Estimated % of Time Per Activity

• 60% Set objectives and strategies for the IT department. Select and implement suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and help optimize their strategic benefits. Design and customize technological systems and platforms to improve customer experience. Plan the implementation of new systems and provide guidance to IT professionals and other staff within the organization. Direct and organize all IT-related projects.
• 40% Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) in the organization to ensure optimal performance. Monitor changes or advancements in technology to discover ways the company can gain competitive advantage. Analyze the costs, value and risks of information technology to advise management and suggest actions. Approve purchases of technological equipment and software and establish partnerships with IT providers.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

Essential Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key duty satisfactorily:

• Proven experience (10+ years preferred) as Senior Director of Information Technology/CIO or similar managerial role in a fast-paced growing organization.
• Must have experience as Senior Director of Information Technology/CIO in organization with at least $150 million in revenue
• Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure
• Background in designing/developing IT systems and planning IT implementation
• Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations
• Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• A strong strategic and business mindset
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• In-depth knowledge of Apple technology
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field(s)
