California destinations pitch to top-tier media at Los Angeles Media Reception

On Oct. 10, media and influencers based in the greater Los Angeles area joined 42 destination and attraction partners at Visit California’s Fall 2024 Los Angeles Media Reception. The event was held at the brand new Intuit Dome in Inglewood, the new home of the Clippers and one of the venues for the 2028 Olympic games.
The event was attended by 86 top-tier media, including 11 international media who were in California for a luxury group press trip. Media attendees represented high-profile outlets such as Travel + Leisure, Forbes, LA Parent, Fodor’s Travel, Lonely Planet and the Los Angeles Times.
During the event, delegates shared their top story ideas and pitches with attendees – who also received information about the Ultimate Playground and Visit California’s partnership with LA28 on the Olympic handover ceremony earlier this summer. Attendees were given an exclusive first look at this exciting venue and were greeted every step of the way with high impact Visit California digital signage utilizing the new venue’s state-of-the-art technology. They were also invited to take photos with the Olympic and Paralympic totems upon entry, and take home a customized basketball from an interactive graffiti station brought in for the event.
Three trips were raffled off throughout the evening, provided by Love Catalina, North Lake Tahoe and KSL Resorts, with the intent to further inspire travel and future media coverage. Additionally, two of Visit Santa Barbara’s Urban Wine Trail members donated wine for the gift bags.
Media feedback from the event has been incredibly positive:
“Thank you for this information and for an outstanding event. I loved seeing the new venue, and the whole evening was so well done - the layout, the food, and the gifts. (Beautiful tote bag, wine, etc.) This was my first and hopefully not my last Visit California event.” - Pat Doherty, Travel + Leisure
"Just a quick note to say thank you so much for inviting me last night. I'm still thinking about what a great event it was to connect with everyone and what an amazing space it was to be hosted in. The privilege is not lost on me. The event was so well run, and hopefully your team found it as successful as I did. I'll be in touch soon… lots of ideas are formulating in my head, and I will get them on paper and share them shortly." - Andie Huber, Viator
“Thank you so much for inviting me to the Visit California event last week! The Intuit Dome is incredibly impressive, and I appreciate you sharing the link with all the details about the destination partners and attendees. It’s so helpful.” - Jasmine Huynh, @jazwanderlust
“Thank you very much for having me last Thursday. The event made my knowledge about the Golden State much deeper and I do appreciate it.” - Riko Ninoseki, Croissant Online
