San Francisco Media Event Fosters Relationships with Bay Area Media

Bay Area media outlets and influencers joined 35 destination partners for a San Francisco Media Event Sept. 22, 2022, at the Golden Gate Club at the Presidio. In all, 51 media and influencers attended to discover what’s new and noteworthy in Golden State tourism.

Media in attendance included high-profile outlets such as AFAR, San Francisco Chronicle, 7x7, Smithsonian, Haute Living, and Marin Magazine. Thirteen content creators also attended, including the eight members of Visit California’s Global Influencer Advisory Board, who had just concluded a meeting in Monterey County.

The event was hosted at the Golden Gate Club, which was selected to showcase the Presidio Tunnel Tops that opened earlier this year. Guests were treated to experiential culinary elements throughout the event, such as a bespoke cocktail bar featuring California-themed beverages and food stations offering a range of dishes reflecting different California cultures. Attendees also received information about the new Visit Native California program and the new platform slated to go live in March 2023.

Presidio Trust, North Lake Tahoe and Visit Oceanside raffled trips intended to further inspire travel throughout the state.

Media and partner feedback from the event has been very positive, with attendees acknowledging the valuable connections and robust networking that happened throughout the night. Visit California’s in-person media events are vital touchpoints to create new contacts, foster existing relationships and share story ideas.
