By Rob Anaya 12/09/2024

Visit California’s Taste of California series brought the spirit of the Golden State to planners in Minneapolis and Chicago on Nov. 12-13, 2024. These exclusive events showcased California’s diverse meetings and events offerings alongside its world-class hospitality, leaving attendees inspired to envision their next event in the Golden State.

Minneapolis: California’s warmth on display

Taste of California In Text

In Minneapolis, 90 planners experienced California’s signature warmth while mingling with 21 California destination marketing organizations (DMOs). The event featured fine wines and a custom menu highlighting the state’s culinary diversity.

Santa Barbara-based Deckers added a unique touch with an UGGs shopping experience, allowing attendees to try on styles and receive their selections at home. Planners also created custom bouquets of California flowers to take home, providing a personal connection to the state. Engaging conversations and meaningful connections set the tone for the afternoon.

Chicago: California chic at the St. Regis

Chicago’s event brought California chic to the elegant Miru restaurant at the new St. Regis hotel. Attendees enjoyed California wines paired with a menu blending Miru’s refined cuisine with California influences.

To complement the experience, planners received luxury cashmere scarves and wraps from California-based Quince and stylish DIFF sunglasses, adding a touch of sunny sophistication to their wardrobes. These thoughtful gifts reinforced California’s reputation for style, taste and innovation.

These roadshow events provided planners with a tangible taste of California’s lifestyle and hospitality, strengthening relationships between California DMOs and Midwest-based event planners.
