New website launches to boost meetings and events bookings in California

By Rob Anaya 09/04/2024

To support the Professional Meetings and Events initiative, Visit California launched MeetWhatsPossible.com on Aug. 1, 2024. The website is dedicated to helping professional meeting planners learn about and connect with destination partners across the state.

This planner-facing resource highlights the top-line meeting offerings and experiences of 55 California destinations, along with direct connection to each partner DMO’s meetings site. With the support of professional meetings and events media placements and engagement at trade shows and events, planners will be driven to the Visit California branded website and met with the Golden State’s bountiful group business opportunities.

What differentiates MeetWhatsPossible.com from other group-focused platforms is the sole focus on planner education featuring group-focused destinations and connection by driving planners directly to our DMO partners’ meetings site. This aligns with PME’s strategy to drive awareness of California as a premier meetings destination and create opportunities for planner connections with DMO partners, avoiding direct lead or sales management.

The site was developed in partnership with California Meetings, LLC, and Visit California’s agencies of record, The Shipyard and Oomph. Invaluable to the effort were the 55 DMO partners who dedicated their time to reviewing their destination information for 100% accuracy. The industry response from DMO partners has been overwhelmingly positive, appreciative and full of excitement. MeetWhatsPossible.com is a new and invaluable resource that the California planner and DMO communities asked for, and Visit California will continue to innovate in supporting this important sector of the travel industry.
