Visit California is partnering with leading Japanese tour operator H.I.S. on a large-scale, multi-channel campaign as part of the ongoing MOU agreement to co-develop tourism promotions and keep California an iconic and celebrated destination in the Japanese market.

The campaign will include a California takeover of H.I.S.’s flagship Travel Wonderland retail branch in Tokyo's Shinjuku area, H.I.S. in-house training sessions and events to expand staff knowledge for the duration of the campaign, original video content pieces of destinations/products, destination article, retail staff FAM tour and social media posts. The campaign will launch with the retail shop takeover in November to mid-December, with other activities running through May 2025.

Tier 1: $25,000

  • Inclusion in Travel Wonderland retail branch build out featuring partner imagery around shop, postcard design corner with partner destination/product logo and imagery, large-screen video
  • Inclusion in in-house training sessions at H.I.S. branches in key cities

  • Two 15-sec destination videos created by H.I.S. content team (one for Instagram and retail agency takeover video, one Salute travel magazine article)
  • One-page article in H.I.S. Saluté travel magazine (value $5,000 per page) targeting Boomers/Gen-X
    • QR-Code to 15-sec destination video 
  • One H.I.S. owned channel post targeting Millennials/Gen-Z (young women)
