JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

Supports the Associate Vice President of Global Brand Advertising and the Director of Content Marketing along with the wider marketing team. This role serves as an integral member of the marketing team and will support many of the brand and content projects that are a part of Visit California’s multi-million dollar marketing program.

 

This role’s responsibilities include assistance with global marketing programs, facilitating industry committee meetings, Global Content and Marketing team status meetings, as well as operational duties, such as scheduling, drafting correspondence, coordinating travel logistics and preparing meeting materials. As candidate continues with Visit California, there will likely be opportunities for special projects in the brand, advertising or social media spaces.

 

Position will work closely with the Visit California administration team, particularly the Marketing Executive Assistant/Assistant to the VP of Marketing and the International Marketing Assistant, to ensure alignment across the marketing leadership team.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • 40% Assist the marketing team, and in particular, the Associate Vice President of of Global Brand Advertising and the Director of Content Marketing, with coordination and execution of day to day programs.
  • 40% Provide administrative support to the the Associate Vice President of of Global Brand Advertising and the Director of Content Marketing. Manage all scheduling, including calendar management, meeting coordination, preparation and logistics. Manage travel arrangements and expense claims as needed.  
  • 10% Facilitate scheduling of Brand & Content Committee meetings, consumer marketing team status meetings and other regular meetings as determined by the Associate Vice President and Director. Prepare agendas, aggregate meeting materials, take minutes and communicate follow ups/actions as needed.
  • 10% Work with Visit California admin team, particularly the Marketing Executive Assistant/Assistant to the VP of Marketing and the International Marketing Assistant to ensure alignment across the entire marketing team.

 

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

Essential Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key duty satisfactorily, as well as exhibit the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of two-three years professional experience in marketing and/or the tourism industry preferred.

 

  • Competency in a variety of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and experience with scheduling and conducting webinars.

 

  • Strong writing skills and ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels within organization.

 

  • Education equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in marketing, advertising, recreation, tourism or related field a plus.

 

  • Strong organizational skills.

 

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

 

  • Some travel may be required.
