Through KultureCity’s certification and training program, all 22 California Welcome Centers (CWCs) are now certified sensory inclusive venues. Each location offers sensory kits and weighted lap pads available for travelers to borrow. Kits include noise-canceling headphones, fidget tools and communication cue cards. In addition, staff at every Welcome Center have completed specialized training to better recognize and assist guests with sensory needs.
Industry partners and local officials from across Southern California gathered at California Welcome Center, Ontario — located inside Ontario Mills — to celebrate the milestone. Attendees heard from Meg Raby Klinghoffer, Chief Koji Officer at KultureCity, about how the program is helping make travel more accessible for individuals with invisible disabilities and their families. Emmy-nominated host Pat Pattison also attended the event to film an upcoming segment for Best of California.
California Welcome Centers continue to serve as Visit California’s frontline resource for travelers, while also supporting local tourism partners and communities across the state. This partnership reinforces Visit California’s commitment to ensuring the Golden State is welcoming, accessible and inclusive for all visitors.
