California brought its signature lifestyle and energy to center court in India at the inaugural NBA House Mumbai, held June 7–8 at Bayview Lawns. Visit California partnered with NBA India and Brand USA to engage more than 10,000 fans over two days, blending basketball culture with music, fashion, and travel to highlight California’s vibrant connection to one of India’s fastest-growing sports.
Fans experienced the Golden State through a lively activation zone featuring the California Hoop Challenge, destination trivia hosted by celebrity MC Harman Singha, and dynamic performances by the Sacramento Kings dance and dunk team. NBA legends Gary Payton and Derek Fisher, along with Kings mascot Slamson, made memorable appearances, while branded giveaways, California t-shirt blasts, and prominent signage kept California in the spotlight.
The experience extended beyond the court, with video integrations, emcee mentions, and a curated guest list of influencers, media, and trade partners reinforcing the state’s presence. The activation generated 6.1 million earned media impressions, positioning California as a destination that reflects the passions and aspirations of India’s young, affluent travelers.
NBA House Mumbai builds on Visit California’s long-standing strategy of leveraging sports partnerships to enhance brand relevance in India. The event followed the successful 2019 NBA India Games collaboration with the Sacramento Kings, further establishing California as a destination where lifestyle, entertainment, and sport come together seamlessly.
