Total domestic and international passenger traffic in California's ten most trafficked commercial airports.


  • This report shows airport traffic statistics for 2023, 2022, and 2019, as well as the total year-to-date change for California. 
  • In May 2023, California top ten airports welcomed 18,455,103 passengers. This is an increase of 9% from 2022 and a decrease of 11% from 2019. 
  • May year-to-date passenger traffic in 2023 at these ten airports was 81,989,140, of which 67,535,277 were domestic and 14,453,863 were international.
  • May year-to-date change for California airports’ domestic traffic was down 11% and 17% for international traffic compared to 2019.
  • In May 2023, the airports with the highest levels of passengers were Los Angeles (6,454,727) and San Francisco (4,363,174).
