A monthly summary of non-resident air arrivals at any California ports of entry (POE).

 

Please note: Beginning with July 2025, the reporting definition of “arrivals” and the historical data have been revised to reflect air arrivals through all California ports of entry.

The downloadable report includes both the old and new methodologies, along with historical data for comparison.

Starting with the January 2026 report, only the new methodology will be published

  • In August 2025, California welcomed 695,654 total non-resident international air arrivals through its all ports of entry — a decrease of 7.5% compared to August 2024.
  • Arrivals from Visit California’s 13 priority markets totaled 523,815, reflecting a 7.6% year-over-year decrease.
  • Canada was the top international market with 74,879 arrivals, though this represented a sharp 37.6% decline year-over-year.
  • China ranked second with 73,831 arrivals, representing a 1.8% decline year-over-year.
  • Markets with year-over-year growth in arrivals for the month included Japan (+20%), Mexico (+6%), Italy (+4%), and UK (+2%).
