California Welcome Centers are strategically positioned at major tourist gateways throughout the state with the aim to offer visitors local insights and ways to extend their trip. Professional concierges provide visitors with destination knowledge tailored to a guest’s interests and itinerary. These interactions encourage responsible travel and inspire travelers to discover local travel businesses, including attractions, accommodations, rental cars, restaurants, retailers and travel services.
California Welcome Centers are independently operated but are subject to the standards overseen by the California Office of Tourism. California Welcome Centers must be open seven days a week with established hours of operation, and may be operated by convention and visitor bureaus, chambers of commerce, government or private entities, or a combination of these. The California Office of Tourism staff conducts both announced and unannounced inspections of the centers to ensure compliance with operating standards.
The Welcome Center program is serving California visitors with 23 centers positioned at major gateways in every tourism region. Find and contact your Welcome Center to better understand and leverage this valuable visitor resource.
