A monthly summary of non-resident air arrivals at any California ports of entry (POE).

 

Please note: Beginning with July 2025, the reporting definition of “arrivals” and the historical data have been revised to reflect air arrivals through all California ports of entry.

The downloadable report includes both the old and new methodologies, along with historical data for comparison.

  • In September 2025, California welcomed 634,924 total non-resident international air arrivals through its all ports of entry — a decrease of 11.2% compared to September 2024.
  • Arrivals from Visit California’s 13 priority markets totaled 464,443 reflecting a 12.7% year-over-year decrease.
  • Canada remained the top international market with 70,306 arrivals, despite a sharp 28.1% decline year-over-year. China ranked second with 65,508 arrivals, down 10.3% from the prior year.
  • Arrivals declined across nearly all major markets, with the steepest drops from Canada (-28.1%), Germany (-22.7%), South Korea (-20.8%), the Nordics (-24.4%) indicating broad international softness.
  • The only markets with year-over-year growth in arrivals for the month included Mexico (+4.5%) and Japan (+1.8%).
