• In May 2026, total passenger traffic across California’s top ten airports reached 18.7 million, with domestic travelers accounting for 81% of the volume. Overall traffic was down 1.7% compared to May 2025.
• The state’s three busiest airports—LAX (6.3M), SFO (4.9M), and SAN (2.4M)—collectively handled 13.5 million passengers during the month.
• Oakland (OAK, -17.7%), Long Beach (LGB, -10%), and Burbank (BUR, -9.2%) reported the deepest year-over-year declines.
• San Diego (+9.8%) reported the highest growth for the month.
