Position start date: Immediate opening
Location: Hybrid (2-3 days per week on site, 2-3 days per week remote)

The Creative Services Coordinator will be responsible for providing design development, content production and editorial messaging for projects within the Communications Department. Therefore, candidates should have excellent design, organization, written communications skills and a passion for producing high quality materials that provide value and drive high impact within the travel industry. Candidates must have the ability to manage a high volume of multiple projects at the same time – meeting deadlines and quality expectations - and an interest of making connections between design and content.

Areas of responsibility

Content Production & Design Development – 70%

Corporate Messaging – 20%

  • Conceptualize and execute design materials for a wide range of print and digital projects of various sizes (large and small).
  • Creation and manipulation of presentation slides via PowerPoint for board meetings, annual conferences, executive speaking engagements and global events.
  • Assist in production of visual content for websites, email newsletters, social media and print materials.
  • Support pre- and post-press production responsibilities for all print materials. Functions may include, but are not limited to mailing list compiling, direct communication and coordination with print vendor(s) and in-person press checks.
  • Oversee project ticketing system, managing the workflow of all projects assigned.
  • Maintaining digital asset email inbox
  • Research latest design trends (print and digital) for potential implementation into Visit California collateral or events.
  • Assist in brainstorming, production, art direction and selection of lifestyle and brand photography for multiple year use.
  • Follow and evolve Visit California brand standards for all creative, working closely with the Creative Development Manager for all creative materials.
  • Assist in uploading and maintaining digital assets to the asset management platform (i.e. various photography and videos, and industry partner logos)

Corporate Messaging – 20%

  • Assist in the proofing process and ensure design application aligns with messaging objectives for the target audience.
  • Conduct content reviews of all consistently used materials (print and digital) to ensure accuracy of corporate messaging objectives.

Other Duties as Assigned – 10%

  • Assist with other special projects and tasks as assigned by Creative Development Manager

    Qualifications and experience

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key duty satisfactorily, as well as exhibit the following qualifications:

    • Education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree or higher in graphic design, communications, marketing or related field a plus
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in a graphic design role, either in-house or agency
    • A demonstrated, advanced level proficiency of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat Pro) and all Microsoft Office products.
    • Video editing experience a plus
    • Fluency in email and web production software as well as basic HTML and CCS skills a plus
    • Proficiency of digital asset management systems, database storage systems, content management systems, archiving and metadata.
    • Proven ability to take direction (via in-person, email or creative briefs) and complete assignments on-time, as well as an initiative to follow through and complete assignments independently
    • Ability to manage multiple demands of varying complexity and meet multiple deadlines
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Strong project management skills
    • Experience using Macintosh operating systems

    Salary and compensation

    Salary Range: $75,500 - $120,000

    The range displayed reflects the range the organization reasonably expects to pay for the position.  The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role, level, relevant education, training, or experience, among other factors.
