Visit California Hosts Japan and Australia Trade FAMs

By Jocilyn Schumacher 03/16/2023

Visit California was excited to welcome its first Trade FAMs back to California since 2020, including trade agents and executives from Japan and Australia.

Re-education and product development are the main focus for international travel trade. With that in mind, Visit California partnered with H.I.S., American and United Airlines in Japan and Travel Associates and United Airlines in Australia to provide updates to familiar gateways, while also revealing new areas and experiences throughout the State.

The H.I.S. FAM focused on product development and resulted in new itineraries that were inspired by their recent venture in California. The new itineraries were premiered during the California Japan CEO mission as part of a larger partnership with H.I.S.

The Australian FAM, as part of a larger partnership with Travel Associates, focused on re-education for the Australian market. Agents that attended the FAM were tasked with creating content to be showcased at their larger conference intended to educate more than 150 agents.

Los Angeles, San Francisco, Newport Beach, San Diego, Greater Palm Springs, West Hollywood, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills and Anaheim were featured in the FAMs. Some highlights included new attractions like the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures and true California classics like wine tasting true California style in a vintage VW Bus in Malibu, a VIP tour of the Los Angeles Angels Stadium, indulging in the food scene of San Francisco, rejuvenating at FACEGYM in West Hollywood, and experiencing the outdoors in Joshua Tree National Park and so much more.
