Economic significance of the travel industry in California’s 80 Assembly districts in 2020. The report includes visitor spending, earnings, employment and tax revenue per district. It also indicates local and state revenue generated by visitor spending, as well as local and state revenues per district household. The estimates are comparable to the county, regional and state travel impacts.

  • Total impacts for all districts match those in the 2020 statewide travel impacts report: $65.1 billion in travel-related spending supporting 860.9 thousand jobs and generating $6.1 billion in state and local taxes. 
  • Among the 80 California Assembly districts, travel impacts were highest in the 17th District (Downtown San Francisco) with $4.2 billion in travel-related spending, $286 million in state and local taxes generated and supporting 36,200 jobs.
